City of Mondovi recognized as Friend of 4-H
The 2015 Buffalo County Friend of 4-H Award was recently presented to the City of Mondovi for its assistance to and support of local 4-H groups and the Mondovi Community Youth Center (MCYC).
The City of Mondovi has generously provided the use of the basement at City Hall and the Roger Marten Community Center at no cost for 4-H club meetings, learning experiences and MCYC’s afterschool and summer programming.
“The City of Mondovi truly recognizes the importance of positive youth development within the community,” said Annie Lisowski, Buffalo County 4-H Youth Development Educator, who was on hand as the 2015 award was presented to the city. “For almost a decade, the City of Mondovi has supported MCYC with in-kind resources and space to grow young people into caring, capable leaders who give back to others through service and learning. And, for much longer, the community has working in partnership with local 4-H clubs to make essential programs happen even when budgets are tight.”
The Buffalo County Friend of 4-H Award traditionally recognizes an individual, organization or agency in the community that has made a difference in the lives of 4-H members by providing financial, political or in-kind support of the 4-H program.
“Buffalo County 4-H is grateful for the ongoing support the Mondovi City Council provides to 4-H members and volunteers as well as their dedication to youth development,” Lisowski added.
The Friend of 4-H Award is provided on behalf of the Buffalo County 4-H Leaders Association and the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation through the generous support of their donors.
