Daniel Comerford

Daniel Joseph Comerford, 56, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Mayo Health Systems in Eau Claire, surrounded by his family, after a 15-month battle with cancer.
Dan was born on Jan. 30, 1960, in Eau Claire, the son of the late Donald and Doris (Kizer) Comerford. He was a 1978 graduate of Eau Claire North High School.
He married Carol Hurley on June 15, 1991, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, in Eau Claire. Shortly thereafter they built a home in rural Mondovi, where together they raised their two children. Dan was an avid outdoorsman and he thoroughly enjoyed bow and rifle hunting on his 80 acres. He loved to be home with family and friends on Packer Sunday and always enjoyed a good western. Most of all, Dan loved spending time at the family cabin on Lake Holcombe and was a big supporter of his children and their many activities. His kids were his pride and joy!
He worked at Midwest Manufacturing for over 30 years.
Dan is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Carly and Colin; sister-in-law, Dianne Comerford of Chippewa Falls; sisters, Linda (Jim) Rudahl of Elk Mound, Sue (Roger) Shilts of Eau Claire, many nephews, nieces, extended family and close friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi. Interment will be private at a later date.
The Family would like to thank Dr. Chakrabarti, his staff and nurses at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mayo Cancer Center of Eau Claire.
