Fay Ehlert

Fay Eleanor Ehlert, 91, of Mondovi, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at the home of her son in Eau Claire
She was born on Sept. 25, 1927, in Modena, on the family farm, daughter of Ralph and Marie (Sellner) Moats.
She was married to Kenneth Taylor and to this union, three children were born. They later divorced. Fay, several years later, was united in marriage to Gordon Ehlert and together they had four children. Gordon preceded Fay in death on March 8, 2000, and on Aug. 21, 2015 she was preceded by her loving daughter, Toni.
Fay was an employee for 18 years in the laundry department at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi. She served the Town of Rock Creek, Dunn County, Wis., for 10 years as both treasurer and clerk.
She was a longtime and faithful member of Our Savior’s United Methodist Church, in Mondovi. She enjoyed serving the church in so many ways and was proud to be part of the United Methodist Women, soup and sermon, and the Christmas Walk.
Fay was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, in Mondovi.
Fay’s family will remember their beloved mom for her love of sewing, her impeccable organization skills, and especially the love and concern she had for each and every one of them, especially her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was graced with over the years.
Fay will be sadly missed by her children, Karen (Bill) Lier of Mondovi, Gerri (Ben) Sessions of Eleva, Randy (Robin) Taylor of Mondovi, Cynthia (Fred) Maki of Eau Claire, Scott (Erica) Ehlert of Whitewater, Todd (Chris) Ehlert of Eau Claire; son-in-law, Pat Heitzman of Shokopee, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her siblings, George (Carol) Moats of Mondovi, Grace (Howard) Peterson of Mondovi, Barb (Gary) Cleasby of Janesville, Don (Sandy) Moats of Whitehall, Harold (Jean) Moats of Oak Creek; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Toni Heitzman; and husband, Gordon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church with Pastor Claire Mather officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery, Mondovi. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel, and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
