Hazel Auer

Hazel M. Auer, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a wonderful friend to many, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2017.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1925, to Vera and Nicholas Barrett. She married Lyle Auer on July 24, 1948. He passed away in 1978. Hazel’s 92 years of life were full of love, laughs, and many good memories.
Her family remembers her by her love and the things she enjoyed most—time with her family, playing scrabble and cards, bowling, baking, bird watching, and gardening. She always had a flower in bloom to bring sunshine to her company.
She touched many hearts. Those closest to her that will hold her dear include her two daughters, Susan (David) Sie and Fay (Glenn) Werlein. She had four grandchildren that cherish the time they spent with her, Tony (Jodi) Sie, Tim (Amelia) Sie, Wendy (Derrick) Bauer, and Amy (Nate) Carlson. She will be an angel to her eight great-grandkids, Porter and Finley Sie, Annika and Helena Sie, Mason and Conner Bauer, and Lyle and Vera Carlson. In addition, she is survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Lyle, and other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 22, at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Claire Mather and Chaplain Gary Preston concelebrating, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
Talbot Family Funeral Homes - Mondovi Chapel is assisting the family. Please share your memories and condolences online at www.talbotfuneralhomes.com.
