Hope Gospel Mission, Eau Claire, has announced it will host a grand opening for its new store in Mondovi on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Located at 121 North Eau Claire Street in the former Mondovi Farmers Store building, the new Hope Bargain Center will offer 50 percent off everything in the store as part of the grand opening event. A ribbon cutting ceremony is also set to take place at 1 p.m.
Craig Pedersen, Hope Gospel Mission's Operations Director, said he was very pleased with the community support the new store has received and is looking forward to continued interaction with the community as the store grows.
The former Farmers Store building that houses the new Bargain Center is historic and holds great memories to many of the local patrons, a Hope Gospel Mission press release states. There have been many stories told and memories shared. Many aspects of the original building have been re-purposed to create the "new" store, from the original tin ceiling to restoring the front display windows and the old Grand Entrance to the building.
Hope Bargain Center Mondovi is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is accepting donations and volunteers to help process donations.
The store is currently staffed with five employees and there are numerous volunteers who help regularly, consisting of about 40 percent of the workforce at Hope Bargain Center. Profits from this new store will be used to help support Hope Gospel Mission and the people they serve throughout Western Wisconsin.
