JENSINE FAY MYERS

Jensine Fay Myers, age 74, of Nelson, formerly of Gilmanton passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 26, 2021, at her residence.
She was born on August 27, 1947 the daughter of Edwin and Grace (Adams) Ottum at the Gillette Hospital in Mondovi. On October 19, 1963, Jensine was united in marriage to Elmer L. Myers in Mondovi.
Jensine was a life member of the Forrest-Gundersen-Klevgard American Legion Auxiliary along with the Mondovi VFW Auxiliary and a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Gilmanton.
She was a wonderful cook and baker. Jensine would rarely follow a recipe because she found perfection with her own ingredients. This cooking attribute came in quite handy during her time as the owner of the Sunshine Cafe in Gilmanton. Her family was very proud of her when at the age of 53, Jensine obtained her driver’s license.
Jensine will be remembered for her witty and fun personality. She was always quick with a joke, many times at the expense of her family, especially her grandchildren. She also was a giving lady that would help anyone in need. Jensine’s memory will live on in her family forever.
Jensine will be sadly and forever missed by her husband of 58 years, Elmer Myers; three children, Lois (John) Hanson, Rose Montreuil and James (Barbie) Myers; grandchildren, Joshua Hanson, Amanda Beres, Stephanie Seaton, Joanna Montreuil, Brittaney Parker, Jessica Droppers, Jensine Montreuil, Alexander Montreuil and Braden Myers; great grandchildren, Rylee Reyes, Brodie & Kooper Beres, Rihanna Reyes, James Seaton, and one on the way; siblings, Clifford Ottum, Royal Ottum, Linda Robinson and Vicky Fuller; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Jensine was preceded in death by, Richard Ottum, Darlene Davis, Arthur Ottum, Mavis Anderson, Darrell Ottum, Donald Ottum, Treva Lowenhagen, James Ottum, Landon Ottum, Ross Ottum, Kerry Ottum, Allis Ottum.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jensine was held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel with Chaplain Gary Preston presiding. A private family committal service will follow at Gilmanton Cemetery. A memorial gathering to share memories and stories will be from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
Elmer and the rest of Jensine’s family will be requiring proper face coverings regardless of vaccination status.
