John Matthew Weisenbeck

John M. Weisenbeck, 74, of Peoria, Ill., passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born May 27, 1944, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Frank and Grace (Simpson) Weisenbeck, of Durand, Wis. He graduated from Mondovi High School in 1962 and attended vocational school for two years. He then joined the Army Reserve and served his county.
He married Mary Miller on March 31, 1973, in Rockford, Ill. John worked as an Agency Manager for over 30 years for American Republic Insurance Co., before retiring, and was co-owner of Always in Style Beauty Salon for over 15 years.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. John loved life and people and he will be missed more than words can say.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Peoria, Ill.; four children, Jeff (LaDonna) Porter of Camdenton, Mo., Michelle (Mike) Pinter of West Peoria, Ill., Mary Mueller of Peoria, Ill., and Stacy (Chris) Berg of Erie, Colo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are seven siblings, Robert (Henrietta) Weisenbeck of Beloit, Wis., Lorena (Robert) Weiss of Eau Claire, Francis Weisenbeck of Eau Claire, Ray (Joan) Weisenbeck of Holcomb, Tony (Wilma) Weisenbeck of Durand, Mona (King) Troensegaard of Fishersville, Va., and Lois (Joe Atteln) Machotka of West Salem, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Nancy Weisenbeck.
A celebration of life service was held on May 5, at 3 p.m., at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, in Peoria, Ill.
