Joseph Patzner

Joseph W. “Sonny” “Joe” Patzner, Jr., 77, of Eleva, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1940, in Pine Creek, Wis., the son of Joseph W., Sr. and Frances (Tomsen) Patzner. Joe married Marian Sonsalla on Nov. 6, 1965, and they were able to share 52 years together.
He worked for Presto in Eau Claire for over 10 years until they closed. He then worked for Indianhead Warehouse until his retirement. Joe enjoyed hobby farming beef cattle most of his life. He was dedicated to it part-time until his retirement, when he was able to dive in full time. Joe was a hard worker, whether it was on the job or with his hobby farm; he was always moving. He loved old, classic cars. There wasn’t a single engine that wasn’t inspected or tinkered with by Joe. He was always fixing something and always willing to lend a hand helping others. He also loved tractors and his skid steer. In Joe and Marian’s early years, they used to take cross country rides on their Harley.
Joe was known for his love of breakfast and being a jokester. He liked to make people laugh. Joe was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe will be sadly missed by his wife, Marian; children, Shari (Rick) Bauer and Debbie (Clyde) Gumbert. He is further survived by his children, Dan Patzner and Brenda Sandoval and their mother, Betty; grandchildren, Lucas (Brooke), Chelsey (Jason), Brooklyn (Travis), Amber (Casey), Cody (Anna), Lindsey (Jr), Kendra (Jeff), Weston (Jill), Korrin and Joshua (Cheryl); great-grandchildren, Clover, Brenley, Bennett, Joseph, Abigail, Elijah, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Kenna, Kiera, Lux, Jackson, Liv, Harlow, Quentin, Santino, Skyla, Austin, Renae, Maeli and Isaac; brother-in-law, Alan; good friend, Ed Bisek; Joe’s faithful K-9 companion, Jake; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jacob; son-in-law, Tim Tomlinson; infant sister, Teresa, and four sisters, Maureen (Alvin), Donna (Ralph), Betty and Jean (Russ).
A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mondovi, on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m., with Father Amir presiding. Burial to follow at the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mayo Hospice, the Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire and especially to Dr. Rick Stoughton.
