Lois Molid

Lois Elaine Molid, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at her home in Minneapolis, Minn., with family members by her side.
Lois was born on June 9, 1931, to John and Lillian Molid, in Modena, Wis. She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Mondovi High School in 1949. She moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she was employed at Honeywell, Inc. for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She worked in the Avionics Division on parts for the first shuttle, for which she received an award from Honeywell. Lois enjoyed traveling. For her first trip she took a ship to England, purchased a car and drove through Holland, Sweden, and other countries. She traveled to Norway several times, contacting relatives of the family. She took her two sisters on one of those trips. She visited Ireland and other European countries on her travels. Lois loved her family and friends and was always there for them with a listening ear and kind words. She owned a house in Duluth, Minn., where she often vacationed and shared with her family.
She is survived by her best friend, Sharon Davis; Sharon’s daughter, Beth (Gary) Weitz; Beth’s children, Danielle and Daryl; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jeff, Lester, Ray, and Wilmer; two sisters, Hazel Marten and Edna Oesau.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi, with Reverend Rolf Morck officiating. Burial followed in the Modena Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery.
