Lyle Huebner

Lyle Huebner, 92, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi.
He was born on March 2, 1924, in Medford, son of the late Earl and Daisy (Miller) Huebner. Lyle honorably served our country during WW II as a member of the United States Army.
On Feb. 5, 1946, Lyle was united in marriage to Luverne V. Thompson. To this union, two children were born. Luverne preceded Lyle in death just 35 days ago, April 17, 2016.
Lyle and his wife resided in Medford until they relocated to Mondovi in 1963, when he began a successful career at Mondovi Implement that saw him retire in 1986 as the parts manager.
He was a member of Central Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and the building committee. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Buffalo River Lodge #252, in Mondovi. While living in Medford, Lyle served on the Medford Fire Department. Lyle enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting both deer and turkey. He was very mechanically inclined and could be found tinkering or fixing most anything.
Lyle will long be remembered by his family for the care, compassion and love he shared, especially to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lyle will be sadly missed by his daughter, Judy Huebner, and son, Bruce (Pam Christensen), all of Mondovi; grandchildren, Tyler, Tiffany, Evan and Mackenzie; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ciana, Lexi, Mallory, Leah and Lacy; nephew, William (Alice) Huebner; other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and loving wife, Luverne, two brothers, Wallace “Wally” and Ervin, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi, with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
Full military honors were performed in tribute to Lyle’s service to country by both the American Legion and VFW posts of Mondovi following the service.
