Mary Hehli

Mary Kay (McCarthy) Hehli, 76, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning at The Classic at Hillcrest Greens.
Mary was born on Feb. 18, 1942, to Irene (Miller) and John (Mac) McCarthy. She graduated from Regis High School in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart, Dave Hehli, on June 2, 1962. Together they had four children.
Mary was a Multicategorical Special Education teacher at Mondovi High School for over 20 years. Throughout her years as a teacher, Mary was admired by her students, their families, school staff, and administration for her tireless efforts and sincere level of care that provided much needed support for the youth who were facing a variety of unique challenges. Wanting to try a new challenge, she chose to join the business world by purchasing Bye’s Dress Shop in Osseo, Wis. She truly enjoyed the people and opportunities that this retail experience gave her. Mary’s Catholic faith was a very important part of her life and she volunteered in many different parishes teaching religious education, lecturing, distributing communion, and numerous volunteer efforts. Her faith and desire to help students brought her back into education. She finished her career working with at risk students in the Osseo School District.
Mary enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her numerous grandchildren, and anything Irish!
Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years David (Doc); four children, Pete (Lynlee) Hehli, Todd (Tammie) Hehli, Angie (Joe) Eisenhuth, Beth (Toby) Salonek; 15 grandchildren, Marissa (Matt) Price, Karley (BJ) Coleman, Carson, Faye, Logan and Griffin Hehli, Emily and Steven Hehli, Lindsey (Colin) Peterson, Amanda, Avery and Cali Eisenhuth, Jacob, Max, and Ben Salonek; great-grandchild, Walker Peterson; sister, Pat Bunk; brothers, Jon (Joan) and Mike McCarthy; sister-in-law, Anne Hehli Gust.
