The Lady Buffs hosted their last Dunn-St. Croix Conference match against Durand on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The seniors were recognized before this match and were greeted with gifts from teammates and parents. This year’s seniors were Julia Jehn, Anna Accola, Jacey Risler, and Elizabeth Berns.

The match ended up going into five sets due to some aggressive defense by both teams. The scores were: 19-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 15-13, with Mondovi ultimately taking home the win.

Jehn finished the game with 12 kills, followed by Emily Weiss with eight. Payton Johnson and Weiss served three aces a piece, and Paige Platter dished out two aces. Defensive leaders were Weiss and Risler with a whopping 31 and 30 digs, respectively. As seen by the stats, Mondovi clearly played some good volleyball.

On Saturday, Oct. 17.  Mondovi hosted a tournament that included many schools from around the area. The Lady Buffs’ bracket included Cadott, Gilmanton, and EC Immanuel. Mondovi beat Gilmanton and went on to beat classic rival Elk Mound in bracket play. The Lady Buffs were first in their bracket and Eau Claire Immanuel went on to win the tournament by beating Menomonie in the final match.

Mondovi received the No. 5 seed in its regional playoff bracket and headed to No. 4 Spring Valley for regional quarterfinal action on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A win would send the Lady Buffs to the regional semifinals on Thursday, Oct. 22, likely pitting Mondovi against top-ranked Eau Claire Regis.
