Regina Brommer

Regina Mabel Brommer, 96, of Urne, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Chippewa Valley Hospital, in Durand.
She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Modena Township, Buffalo Co., Wis., daughter of Martin and Ragnild (Aasen) Thompson.
She attended Church Valley School. On Jan. 24, 1953, she married Orville Brommer, at the Lyster Lutheran Parsonage. They owned and operated the Brommer Grocery Store in Urne for 27½ years, retiring in 1982.
Orville died July 1, 1986. In the fall of 2016, Regina moved to the Assisted Living of Durand.
Regina enjoyed playing cards and word search puzzles. She loved babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the Sons of Norway and a member of Lyster Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the Lyster choir, and many of the ladies groups.
She is survived by her children, Rodney Brommer and Doreen (Robert) Brunner, both of Nelson; three grandchildren, Rodney, Jr. (Amanda) Brommer, Bradley and Timothy Brunner; three great-grandchildren, Marley, Bailey and Kyley; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Brommer; siblings, Thomas Thompson, Leslie Thompson, Elsie Sveen, Anna Thompson, Martha Wieland, Clara Wieland, Amelia Brommer, Martha Thompson, and infant sister, Louise.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, at Lyster Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Vetsch officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
