Sharon Wick

Sharon Kay Wick, 74, of Gilmanton, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Wabasha, Minn.
She was born on April 22, 1943, in Winona, Minn., a daughter of the late Ewald and Eileen (Buchholz) Hoksch.
Sharon attended Alma Area Schools, graduating with the class of 1961.
On Aug. 25, 1962, Sharon was united in marriage to Allyn Wick, at the former Zion Lutheran Church, in Cream. To this union, four children were born.
Sharon was employed as a bookkeeper for the School District of Gilmanton, a career that spanned 40 years. Sharon will be remembered by those in the area as a devoted basketball fan of both the boys and girls teams of the Gilmanton High School. She attended every home game as well as every away game, serving as the team scorekeeper. One of Sharon’s proudest moments as scorekeeper was to be at courtside with the Gilmanton Girls Basketball team as they won the WIAA State Championship in Madison.
Sharon was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her yearly trip with her husband, Allyn, to Las Vegas.
Sharon will long be remembered for her deep adoration, love and dedication for her precious grandchildren, loving children, and her beloved husband.
Sharon now leaves us with precious memories, along with a legacy of love and compassion.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 55 years, Allyn Wick, of Gilmanton; son, Jeffrey (Veronica) Wick, of Gilmanton; daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Pearson, of Alma; grandchildren, Miranda (Joshua) Straton of Eau Claire, Christopher Hurlburt of Gilmanton, Justin Pearson of Chrystal, Minn., and Jarett and Jordan Pearson both of Alma; great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Drake; brothers, Orlyn (Karla) Hoksch of Alma and Daryl (Cheryl) Hoksch of Pardeeville, Wis.; three sisters, Betty (Glen) Corum of Forest Lake, Minn., Marlet (David) Berg of Gilmanton, and Sonja (Steven) Fernholz of Hager City, Wis.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Besides her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her twin infant sons; a sister, Ardys Fimian.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, at Central Lutheran Church of Mondovi, with Rev. Lisa Watson-Hill, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Cream.
