Virginia Lietha

Virginia “Ginny” Ann Lietha, 76, of Solon Springs, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1942, in Modena, Wis., daughter of the late Otto G. Jr. and Clara (Wenger) Loewenhagen.
Ginny attended the Tell Grade School, in rural Alma, and graduated from Gilmanton High School. Ginny furthered her education at the Alma Normal School, where she earned her teacher’s degree.
On Aug. 1, 1964, Ginny was united in marriage to Gene O. Lietha, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Modena. To this union, three children were born.
Ginny was employed for 12 years at Treasure Island Casino as a housekeeper.
She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Modena, and Joy Lutheran Church, in Prescott, Wis.
Ginny loved to fish, sew, knit, read, play Bingo and ceramics. One of Ginny’s favorite times of the year, and one she would always look forward to, was the time spent in the garage with the hunting crew.
Virginia is survived by her husband Gene of Solon Springs; children, Paula Kenow of Prescott, Andrea (Dennis) Haas of Ellsworth, Tim Lietha of Mounds View, Minn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m., at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Buffalo City Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
