Gehrke Floral & Greenhouses is prepared to mark a significant milestone this week as one of Mondovi’s long-standing businesses. Pictured, John and Mary Gehrke have owned the business since 2001 when they bought it from John’s mother, Eunice Gehrke (center), who ran the flower shop for nearly 30 years. Eunice and John worked side-by-side until Eunice retired. John continues to design floral arrangements and Mary takes care of the bookkeeping for the business.

A benefit will be held this Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Eleva American Legion on behalf of the Ryskoski family—Mark, Bobbie, Aspen and Hunter—of Eleva. Mark was recently diagnosed with CLL, a form of leukemia, while Bobbie has battled wrist injuries and other medical issues for several years.
