It was a triumphant week for the Lady Buffs against the teams of Barron and Unity-Luck.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the girls made the trip to Barron to play some tough and well-matched competition. Though there were only four courts, lights helped keep the matches going long after the sun had disappeared. It was long night for the tennis girls, but all and all it was worth it for the Mondovi gals as they came out on top with an overall score of 4-3.

The individual scores were: Singles - No. 1 singles: Emma Boley — (5-7) (6-7) (4-7); No. 2 singles: Maria Jans — (5-7) (4-6); No. 3 singles: Emily Flaskrud — (6-4) (6-3); No. 4 singles: Gabby Scott — (6-2) (6-1). Doubles — No. 1 doubles: Amelia Flaskrud and Nola Matchey — (6-0) (6-0); No. 2 doubles: Sophie Danzinger and Claire Bee — (6-1) (6-3); No. 3 doubles: Hannah Boos and Jozi Pongratz — (6-1) (0-6) (5-10).

A few days later on Thursday, Sept. 10, the girls took the even longer trip up to Unity to play some exciting matches. The girls’ hard work on the court paid off ending the day with a final score of 7-0. All the girls played great, which was clearly shown in the impressive set scores. The match scores were as follows:

Singles - No. 1 singles: Boley — (6-1) (6-1); No. 2 singles: Jans — (6-0) (6-3); No. 3 singles: E. Flaskrud — (6-1) (6-0); No. 4 singles: Scott — (6-0) (6-0). Doubles — No. 1 doubles: A. Flaskrud and Matchey — (6-0) (6-2); No. 2 doubles: Danzinger and Bee — (6-1) (6-1); No. 3 doubles: Boos and Pongratz — (6-1) (6-0).

The girls will be hosting a home match against Osceola on Thursday, Sept. 15, and will face Bloomer on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
