Police still searching for driver who evaded MPD officer in high-speed chase

A vehicle driven by an unknown individual evaded a Mondovi Police Department officer during a high-speed chase in Mondovi last week.

According to MPD Chief Scott Smith, Sergeant Tim Hollister was on patrol on Wednesday night, Jan. 27, shortly before midnight when he attempted to pull a vehicle over on West Main Street for violation of a city ordinance.

The vehicle was westbound on W. Main, near Commerce Court, and did not stop for Hollister’s lights and sirens.

Hollister pursued the vehicle through the city at high speed. The driver failed to stop at seven stop signs and also lost control several times.

The vehicle then left the city traveling north on County Road H. Hollister followed in pursuit for several miles north of the city before making the decision to end the chase for safety reasons.

No arrest has been made. The MPD continues to investigate the incident.
