Bennett Valley Gray Band rekindles family harmony

Nearly all members, past and present, of the Bennett Valley Gray Band came together at The Valley in Mondovi for a special reunion concert on Sept. 17. Pictured are the band's founding members Duane Gray (center front) and his children (left to right) Corey Gray, Dave Gray, Candyce Gray, Christi Gray-Hurlburt, Debbie (Gray) Reidt and Darin Gray. Other band members include (back, left to right) Roger Larson, Bob Holden, Adam Chmelik, Steve Moy and Mike Albertson.

Debbie Reidt, the band’s original bass player, joined her siblings on-stage for several songs.

Members of the Bennett Valley Gray Band conducted a sound check prior to their reunion concert at The Valley Sept. 17.

Candyce Gray, Roger Larson and drummer Bob Holden prepped for their performance, which drew hundreds of fans to The Valley for a 7+ hour concert featuring different combinations of past band members.

Candyce Gray and Darin Gray are two of the band’s main vocalists, though their ability to harmonize with their father and other siblings is part of what makes the Bennett Valley Gray Band stand out.

Duane Gray took the mic to lead the band in “Elijah.”

Corey and Christi sang and played to the Garth Brooks hit, “Friends in Low Places.”

Corey Gray (center) played electric and bass guitar during the performance, adding a strong rock-and-roll element.

Duane Gray and daughter Candyce helped open the reunion concert with a focus on family harmony, sans instruments.
