Mondovi girl to appear in ECCT performance of ‘Madagascar’ this weekend

Eight-year-old Olivia Snyder of Mondovi will take the stage along with a wild cast of characters as the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre presents Madagascar with six performances July 26-30 at the State Theatre in Eau Claire.

Snyder will play the role of Mort, the annoying, but cute, lemur in the performance that will cap off ECCT’s 28th season.

A humorous adaptation of the Dreamworks movie, Madagascar: A Musical Adventure follows the antics of other characters like Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and the Penguins on a wild journey as they escape from the Central Park Zoo and make the trip to Madagascar.

Performances are scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, through Friday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 29, at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, July 30, at 1:30 p.m.
