Strum Village Board approves student program with police department

STRUM - The Strum Village Board approved a program to sponsor a college student studying criminal justice with the Strum Police Department during its August meeting.
It was reported to the Board that this student is interested in staying in the Strum area and looks to be a potential future officer in the police department.
It was also reported to the board that the vacant lot on Walnut St., where the tennis courts were, was surveyed and will be sold with the adjoining lot.
Building permits unanimously approved by the board were one for a 32x38' garage for Mary Steffenson – 303 – 4th Avenue S. and a temporary shed on a portion of the village lot next to her house at 320 Maple St.
Board members also discussed funding for repairs at Spangberg Field including lights (which will cost over $2,000) and redoing the whole field.
