Mission accomplished—‘Operation Stage Renovation’ now complete

Members of Mondovi Girl Scout Cadette Troop 3428 showed off the new stage at the Roger Marten Community Center. The Cadettes planned and fundraised for the $3,000 project, “Operation Stage Renovation,” and completed the majority of the work Sept. 17-18. Troop members are (left to right) Ariana Larson, Paige Livingston, Emily Noetzelmann and Lindsay Buchholz.

Cadettes (left to right) Lindsay Buchholz, Ariana Larson and Emily Noetzelmann sanded wood planks that would become new treads for the stage steps. Trim was also added to the front of the stage to tie the renovation together.

The Cadettes, their co-leaders, and others who helped out with the project signed and dated the back of one of the floor boards that went down on the stage to commemorate their work. The Cadette Troop initiated the community assistance project over a year ago to qualify for the Silver Award—a major Girl Scouts honor.

The Cadettes worked together to install planks of bamboo flooring over the existing stage. Once the group got its equipment functioning properly, the Scouts say the flooring project went fairly smoothly.
