Wayward dog finds happily ever after with Mondovi family

After evading humane association staff and Mondovi residents, “Jerry” has settled into his new home with the Oscar and Vicki Howell family quite nicely. Pictured, Vicki (center) says she was intrigued by the dog’s unique story on social media and quickly convinced Oscar (left) and their daughters, Kayla and Brooklynn, to make him the newest family member once he was available for adoption. BCHA staff Brenda Gruber (back left) and Cindy Krett (back right) were among those who tried to help catch Jerry.

Kayla and Brooklynn Howell gave Jerry some loving pats as he lounged on the floor near the family’s Christmas tree last month. Vicki says Jerry was an “early Christmas present” for her daughters.

Jerry walked with his new family in Mondovi's "Small-Town Christmas" parade on Dec. 5.
